Group Treatment
Alternative or Adjunct to Individual Treatment
Group Therapy
Group therapy is an evidence-based treatment shown to be as effective as individual therapy for several mental health concerns, including anxiety disorders, OCD, and depression. Group treatment offers unique benefits such as reducing isolation, building connection, and learning from others facing similar struggles, all in a supportive and professionally led setting. Another advantage of group treatment is that it is usually less costly than individual therapy and can be used alone or in conjunction with individual therapy. Below are brief descriptions of groups I lead or co-lead at the Center for Psychological and Behavioral Science. Please click the title of each group for more details.
ERP OCD Treatment Group (Palm Beach County, FL)
This group utilizes Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, the gold-standard treatment for OCD.
I-CBT OCD Treatment Group (Palm Beach County, FL)
This therapy group is designed for adults with OCD who are seeking an alternative to traditional exposure-based treatments. Using Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), participants will learn how obsessional doubts stem from reasoning distortions rather than random intrusive thoughts. Unlike standard CBT, which focuses on reducing distress through exposure and response prevention (ERP), I-CBT targets the cognitive processes that generate obsessions in the first place.
Social Anxiety Treatment Group (Palm Beach County, FL)
This structured therapy group is designed for individuals struggling with social anxiety. Using evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), participants will learn strategies to manage anxiety in social situations, challenge negative thought patterns, and build confidence in interpersonal interactions.
Panic Disorder Treatment Group (Palm Beach County, FL)
This structured therapy group is designed for adults experiencing panic attacks and persistent fear of panic-related symptoms. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, participants will learn to understand the cycle of panic, challenge catastrophic thoughts, and develop effective coping strategies.
